Hybrideseminar: Modelling the Energy Transition in Electricity Markets

In this seminar we will discuss our modelling activities of the impact of the energy transition on electricity markets. We will discuss the scope and content of our partial short-term equilibrium models of electricity markets and how they are applied. The applications we discuss are: the effect of the energy transition on the profitability of different generation technologies, the impact of contracts for differences for non-carbon electricity generation on the efficiency of electricity markets, the profitability of hydrogen production via electrolysis, and the profitability of batteries in day-ahead and intraday electricity markets.
