World Trade Monitor November 2024

World Merchandise trade increased 0.4% in November 2024 compared to the previous month, following an increase of 0.3% in October. This is evident from the monthly CPB World Trade Monitor. On the import side especially the United States (+4.2%) and advanced Asia excluding Japan (+2.4%) recorded an increase. In contrast, Japan (-5.0%) showed a decrease. On the export side the United States (+3.3%), Latin America (+3.0%) and advanced Asia excluding Japan (+1.3%). However, Japan (-2.3%) and emerging Asia excluding China (-2.5%) show a decrease.

Developments in global international trade and industrial production November 2024:

  • World trade volume increased 0.4% month-on-month (growth was 0.3% in October, initial estimate 0.0%).
  • World trade momentum was 0.6% (non-annualised; 1.2% in October, initial estimate 1.1%).
  • World industrial production increased 0.3% month-on-month (having increased 0.4% in October, initial estimate 0.3%).
  • World industrial production momentum was 0.5% (non-annualised; 0.5% in October, unchanged from initial estimate).

The next release of the CPB World Trade Monitor is scheduled for 25 February 2025, 12:00 hours.

The monthly CPB World Trade Monitor is an instrument with which CPB monitors the development of world trade and is published on behalf of the European Commission.
