CPB lecture 2024: Health Insurance, Out-of-Pocket Payments, Health Expenditures, and Health Outcomes: Policy Lessons from Experiments

In the coming years, many countries will be confronted with rising health expenditures. To limit the growth of public health expenditures, countries often implement measures such as co-payments or limitations on public benefit packages. However, it’s essential to consider the impact of these measures on people’s health and solidarity among households. On October 17, 2024, Katherine Baicker will deliver the CPB Lecture 2024. Katherine Baicker, PhD, is the provost of the University of Chicago and a professor of Health Economics. She serves on the Congressional Budget Office’s Panel of Health Advisers.

Anne-Fleur Roos (program leader Health at CPB) will introduce new CPB research that examines how insurance policy options affect risk and income solidarity among Dutch households
