The Future of Multi-Pillar Pensions
This book, with contributions of 15 Netspar affiliated international pension experts, is the final outcome of a Netspar Theme Project. It reconsiders the multi-pillar pension scheme against the background of pressures as population aging, increasing heterogeneity of the population, increasing labor mobility and a severe financial and debt crises.

This book, 'The Future of Multi-Pillar Pensions' adopts an integral perspective and asks how the pension system as a whole contributes to the three basic functions of pension schemes: facilitating life-cycle financial planning, insuring idiosyncratic risks and sharing macroeconomic risks across generations. It focuses primarily upon the Netherlands, but the lessons that are drawn have a broader international applicability.
