Gerdien Meijerink is Programme Leader International Analysis of the sector Macroeconomic Analysis CPB. The International Analysis programme publishes the monthly World Trade Monitor. It also provides the "international exogenous variables" for the forecasts of CPB: international prices, interest rates and inflation, global economic growth and the development of world trade (that is relevant for The Netherlands). The research program focuses on the development of international trade.

State of the economy and economic policy play a key role in shaping migration
Migration is largely driven by labour demand. This implies that, beyond direct migration policies, economic policies can also play a significant role in shaping migration to and from the Netherlands.
